I really like how he looks directly at the camera before doing the evil deed, like the two of them are in on something! If I were a student there, I'd probably have fallen for that and due to the boring nature of the class, it'd be the only interesting thing I'd seen all day!

Yes I can see the Teachers point of view, but like someone else said here he could come back with a weapon. The Teacher should of just taken the phone and keep it till end of class and give it back to the student. Not destroy the phone in front of the entire class. my history teacher was amazing, the comparison between him and this miserable dude is night and day, history was a class where you sat down and your teacher told a story, not this fucking snooze fest, holy shit he’s just making the kids hate history, no one is learning from this

Obviously, this "professor" hasn't yet taught, much less understood, the fourth amendment protection that allows citizens "to be secure . . . against unreasonable searches and seizures" of property. Without probable cause a CRIME has occurred, he is toast if the student sues.
